Fiona is a certified Clicker (Positive Reinforcement) Trainer who is dedicated to training dogs using only positive methods.  She believes that the training experience should be fun for both dog and owner, and that you will enjoy learning how to communicate with your dog in a way that is easy and effective.  Out of date, old fashioned correction (punishment-based) training methods that cause pain and stress to the dog hold no place in her classes.

Fiona is a longtime student of behaviorist and internationally known agility trainer Julie Daniels, and has also trained with Susan Garrett (Canadian agility, flyball, and obedience champion) Elicia Calhoun and Laura Dolan (AKC Agility World Team members)  Marco Mouen and Pascal Peng (European agility champions).  She has also taken numerous training and behavior seminars with noted animal behaviorists Ted Turner, Karen Pryor, and Turid Rugaas.  Most recently, Fiona and her dog The Golden Snitch were selected to participate in Leslie McDevitt’s  Control Unleashed Seminar, which was filmed for the DVD that demonstrates the ground breaking training techniques that are featured in Leslie’s hugely successful training book Control Unleashed. .Fiona believes that every dog, whether it’s a family pet, show, or performance dog, needs, and will benefit from, training in obedience, good manners, and socialization, and that Positive Reinforcement training is the best way to accomplish that.

Fiona is currently owned by 3 Dogs:

• Sippiwisset Wind Blown, MX, MXJ (Sassy) Pembroke Welsh Corgi (working on her AKC agility MACH title).

• Top Brass Rave Creek Go For It (The Golden Snitch) Golden Retriever, who is featured in Control Unleashed, A Foundation Seminar, winner of the 2008 Association of Animal Behavior Professionals Best Dog Behavior DVD.

• Sippiwisset Sand Piper (Scooter) Pembroke Welsh Corgi, agility star in training.
